The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is charged with coordinating and supervising all agencies and functions of the government relating directly to national security and the Indian armed forces. The Ministry has the largest budget among the federal departments of India and currently maintains fourth in military expenditure,among countries of the world. The President of India is the ceremonial commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the country. The Ministry of Defence provides policy framework and resources to the armed forces to discharge their responsibility in the context of the defence of the country. The Indian Armed Forces (including Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy) and Indian Coast Guard under the Ministry of Defences are primarily responsible for ensuring the territorial integrity of the nation. At present, the undergoing new creation of National Defence University, for training of military officials and concerned civilian officials, will be administered and overseen by Ministry of Defence. The ministry organises and runs Republic Day celebrations and parade every year in January, hosting a chief guest.

I. Eligibility Criteria for Application:
1. Only Indian Nationals are eligible
2. Candidate passed their three/two year’s diploma course in above mention engineering branches from recognized by AICTE or GOI on or after 31 July 2016.
3. Age limit: Maximum Age 28 years or less as on 30/06/2019. Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST & PWD candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.
4. If the number of candidates is higher than the number of Vacancies indicated, then the criteria to short listing of candidates for Written Test will be based on final percentage marks obtained in Diploma which will be decided by selection committee
5. Pass class will be required for BEL employee wards for appearing in the written Test.
