The University of Delhi, informally known as Delhi University (DU), is a collegiate public central university, located in New Delhi, India. It was founded in 1922 by an Act of the Central Legislative Assembly. As a collegiate university, its main functions are divided between the academic departments of the university and affiliated colleges. Consisting of three colleges, two faculties, and 750 students at its founding, the University of Delhi has since become India's largest institution of higher learning and among the largest in the world. The university currently consists of 16 faculties and 86 departments distributed across its North and South campuses. It has 77 affiliated colleges and 5 other institutes with an enrollment of over 132,000 regular students and 261,000 non-formal students. The Vice-President of India serves as the University's chancellor. DU is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Association of Indian Universities, and Universitas 21, a global network of research-intensive universities. DU has graduated many notable alumni, including seven heads of state or government and two Nobel laureates.

There will be several rounds of Registration and Admissions for candidates whose names figure in
ECA Merit Lists – four rounds have been scheduled so far. Candidates should note that each college
will conduct its registration process separately, and that there is no centralization of this process.
Candidates will therefore have to apply separately to each of the colleges they are seeking
admission during each registration and admission rounds.

Step 1: Candidates, selected in the merit list of any ECA activity, have to register their names in the registration and document verification sessions at all the colleges to which they seek admission, and where that specific ECA activity/sub-category is listed ( Refer to the annexure in the Bulletin of Information for the ECA seat matrix offered by each college.) They have to apply to the colleges in these registration sessions at the specific dates and times notified in the uploaded document mentioned above. .
Step 2: During the registration process, the candidate has to register his/her name in the specific ECA activity/subcategory and specify the courses in which he/she is interested in (in order of preference) and the percentage marks (academic) relevant to that course. If a candidate’s name appears in more than one merit list, he/she will need to register his/her name separately for each of those activities/sub-categories, even in the same college. .
Step 3: At the end of each registration session (which lasts for 2 to 3 days), the college will notify the names of the candidates to whom it is offering admission in specific courses.
Step 4: For candidates whose names appear in the notified admission list of a college, two days will be given to secure admission in that round of admission.
Step 5: If the name of a candidate does not appear in the notified admission list of a college, the candidate is advised to once again register in the colleges that he/she is seeking admission to, on the dates of the next registration round.
Step 6: This procedure will carry on either till the 4th Registration session or till the time the ECA seats are filled in a college, whichever is earlier. NOTE 1: Candidates are advised to carry all relevant documents while registering at the colleges during the registration and verification sessions. NOTE 2: Candidates admitted under an ECA category have to sign a bond on a non-judicial stamp paper, committing to take part in that ECA activities of the college throughout their stay in college..
