Indian Airforce Recruitmemt Rally From 16 September to 22 September 2016


1. Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from the designated Districts of State of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam District (UT of Puducherry) to join as Airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) [Medical Assistant (Med Asst)] Trade and Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) {INDIAN AIR FORCE (SECURITY) [IAF(S)]} Trade will be held at District Indoor Stadium, Kadapa (Andhra Pradesh) as per the Selection Programme given below.

2. The Recruitment Test will be conducted from 7 AM onwards as per the details given below. Candidates [from designated districts of State of Andhra Pradesh and Yanam District (UT of Puducherry) covered below] fulfilling the domicile requirements and eligibility conditions reporting up to 10 AM on 16 September 2016, 18 September 2016 and 20 September 2016 at the Rally Venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Test.

Note: The Recruitment Test is not for selection as Commissioned Officers/ Pilots/Navigators.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS :

3. Date of Birth Block.
(a) Candidates born between 08 January 1997 and 28 June 2000 (both days inclusive) are eligible to appear in the Recruitment Rally.
(b) In case, a candidate clears the Selection Procedure then the upper age limit as on date of enrolment is 21 years.

4. Educational Qualification.
(a) Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) Med Asst Trade
(i) Passed 10+2/ Intermediate / equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. (OR) (ii) Two year Vocational Course from State Education Boards / Councils which are listed in Council of Boards for School
Education (COBSE) list, with non-vocational subjects viz., Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.
(b) Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) [IAF(S)] Trade
(i) Candidate should have passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. (OR) (ii) Two year Vocational Course from State Education Boards / Councils which are listed in Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) list with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.

Note - 1: Boards recognized/affiliated by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) will only be permitted.
Note - 2: Exact aggregate % of marks before decimal as written in the marks sheet of 10+2/Intermediate/Equivalent OR calculated as per the rules of concerned Education Board will only be considered (For example 49.99% should be taken as 49% and not to be rounded off to 50%).

5. Domicile Requirement. To be eligible to appear in the rally at District Indoor Stadium, Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh the candidates are required to satisfy the following conditions:

(a) The School / College / Institute from where candidates have passed the qualifying examination should be within the geographical / administrative limits
of specified Districts (as mentioned in Paragraph 2 above) of State of Andhra Pradesh or Yanam District (UT of Puducherry). If the name of District is not mentioned with the name of Institution in the certificate / marks sheet of qualifying examination, the candidates are to produce ‘Domicile Certificate’ issued by Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) or any official authorized by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh or Union Territory of Yanam.

(b) Permanent Domicile of specified Districts (as mentioned in Paragraph 2 above) of State of Andhra Pradesh or Yanam District (UT of Puducherry) who have passed the qualifying examination from anywhere in India are to produce the Domicile Certificate prior to commencement of
examination from appropriate authority as given in sub-paragraph 5(a) above.

(c) Sons of Serving / Retired / Discharged / Deceased Air Force Personnel, irrespective of their domicile status are permitted to appear in the rally subject to submission of Son of serving Air Force personnel (SOAFP) certificate (format available on AFNET CASB webpage) (or) PPO, Discharge Book, Service Certificate issued from AFRO/DAV for Sons of retired/deceased/discharged Air Force personnel, in the following categories: -

(i) Father/Mother is presently serving in any Air Force Unit located in the specified Districts (as mentioned in Paragraph 2 above) of State of Andhra Pradesh or Yanam District (UT of Puducherry).

(ii) Ex-IAF personnel/families of deceased personnel who are residing in specified Districts (as mentioned in Paragraph 2 above) of State of Andhra Pradesh or Yanam District (UT of Puducherry) on production of proof of minimum stay of one year along with Original and a photocopy of Discharge Book, Service Certificate issued from AFRO/DAV for wards of retired / deceased / discharged Air Force personnel).

6. Medical Standards.

(a) General Medical Standards are as follows: -
(i) Chest : Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm.
(ii) Weight : Proportionate to height and age.
(iii) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable.
(iv) Hearing : Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
(v) Dental :Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. (vi) Health : Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.

7. Body Tattoo.
Permanent body tattoos only on inner face of the fore arms (inside of elbow to the wrist), Back (dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of palm and Tribals with tattoos which are as per custom and traditions of their tribes only are permitted. However, right to decide on acceptability/ unacceptability of the individual rests with the Selection Centre. Candidates with permanent body tattoos are to submit a photograph of the tattoo with details of size and type of the Tattoo.

8. Candidates discharged from Indian Army/Indian Navy/Any other Government Organisation are also eligible subject to their discharge with NO ADVERSE ENTRIES (Original Discharge Certificate to be produced at the rally venue on the day of testing). Candidates discharged from Indian Air Force for any reason are not eligible to appear in the rally.

9. Writing Materials and Documents Required.
Candidates are to bring the following:
(a) HB Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Gum tube, Stapler and Black/Blue Ball Point Pen for writing.
(b) Seven un-attested recent (taken not before September 2016) passport size colour photograph (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his Name and Date of Photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
(c) Original and four self-attested photocopies of Matriculation Passing Certificate (required for Date of Birth verification).
(d) Original and four self-attested photocopies of Matriculation Marks Sheet (Only applicable for 02 years Vocational Course Holders when English is not a subject in Vocational Course). (e) Original and four self-attested photocopies of Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent Examination Passing Certificate and Marks Sheet. (OR) Original and four self-attested photocopies of Two years Vocational Course Passing Certificate and Marks Sheets of all semesters for Vocational Course Holders. (f) Original and four self-attested photocopies of Domicile Certificate (or) Original and four self-attested photocopies of duly filled Son of Air Force personnel (SOAFP) Certificate (format available on AFNET CASB webpage) for Sons of serving Air Force personnel (or) Original and four self-attested photocopies of PPO/ Discharge Book/ Service Certificate issued from AFRO/DAV for Sons of retired/deceased/discharged Air Force personnel. (g) Candidates discharged from Indian Army/Indian Navy/Any other Government Organisation.Original and four Self-attested photocopies of Discharge Certificate (as issued from Indian Army/Indian Navy/Government Organisation). (h) Original and four self-attested photocopies of NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate (if applicable).

Note.
Under no circumstances the candidates will be permitted to appear in the Rally without Original Educational Marks Sheets/Passing
Certificates & Documents mentioned above in paragraph 9 (c) to (g). However, candidates with photocopies of Educational Marks Sheets/Passing
Certificates can be permitted to appear in the Rally only on production of a certificate from College/School Principal certifying that Educational Certificates/Marks sheets are deposited with College/School.

(j) Consent Form. (as per the format given below) Candidates are to bring the “Consent Form’ to the Examination Venue and submit it before the Physical Fitness Test. Candidates below 18 years of age are to get the Consent form filled and signed by their parent/guardian. The candidates of 18 years of age and above can sign the consent form themselves.

10. Tenure & Training.
Enrolment is for an initial period of 20 years extendable up to the age of 57 years (subject to service conditions). Initially candidates will be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) at Basic Training Institute, Belagavi (Karnataka). On successful completion of JBPT,candidates will be sent for trade training of specified duration. Training is however liable to be terminated at any time if the trainee fails to achieve the required standards in academics, profession, physical fitness and discipline or is found to be medically unfit. AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING, THE AIRMEN WILL BE DEPLOYED ON GROUND BASED JOBS AS PER THEIR ALLOTTED TRADE. ALLOTTED TRADE WILL NOT BE
CHANGED ON CANDIDATE’S REQUEST ON ANY GROUNDS.

11. Pay & Allowances. During training, a stipend of Rs. 11,400/- per month will be paid. On completion of training the starting gross
emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Grade Pay, Military Service Pay (MSP) and Dearness Allowance (DA) will be as follows.

(a) Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) Med Asst Trade. Rs. 23,535/- per month (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.

(b) Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) IAF(S) Trade. Rs. 23,535/- per month (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career
progression of the individual. Special Force (SF) Allowance {IAF(S)} @ Rs. 10,500/- per month on completion of training will be applicable to
Indian Air Force (Security) Trade only.

12. Other allowances such as Transport allowance, Composite personal maintenance allowance (CPMA), Leave Ration allowance (LRA), Children
Education Allowance, Family planning allowance, HRA etc. are also admissible to airmen.
Note. The above pay & allowances are under revision by 7th Central Pay Commission.

13. Perks. Perks such as Ration, Clothing, Medical facilities, Accommodation, CSD (Canteen) facilities, Leave (60 days Annual and 30 days
Casual in a Calendar year as a privilege, subject to service exigencies), Recreational facilities, Transport for school going children and Leave
Travel Concession (LTC) are also provided as per the existing rules. Group Insurance Cover of Rs. 37.5 Lakhs at a premium of
Rs. 2300/- per month for all airmen and facility of Group Housing Scheme are also extended. Other facilities by Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) are also extended to the families of airmen.

14. Job Specification.
(a) Medical Assistant Trade. Operating as a Medical Assistant, you are made familiar with nursing and first-aid. You are also involved in
management of medical stores, dispensaries and ward supervision. (b) Indian Air Force (Security) Trade. Airmen will be part of elite group of
multi-faceted air warriors. The job profile entails stringent physical fitness regimen, high level of discipline and involves undertaking special operations and carrying out high intensity security operations. Note: Airmen will also have to undertake any other tasks as assigned by superior
authorities.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

15. Verification of Eligibility. Original Certificates, Marks Sheets and other required applicable original documents like NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate,Son of serving Air Force personnel (SOAFP) certificate (or) PPO, Discharge Book, Service Certificate issued from AFRO/DAV for Sons of retired/deceased/discharged Air Force personnel (or) Discharge Certificate (if discharged from Army/Navy/Government organisation), Consent Form, signed by parents if candidate below 18 years of age, and passport size colour photographs will be required and scrutinized/verified at the examination venue prior to commencement of Written Test to ascertain the eligibility prima-facie. Detailed verification will be carried out later in respect of candidates who pass Written Test. Candidature of those who do not meet the laid down educational criteria will be rejected during Initial verification of original certificates & mark sheets prior to conduct of written test and also during detailed verification on clearing the written test. Note: The original Passing Certificates / Marks Sheets will not be retained by the Selection Center. The same will be returned to the candidates on completion of detailed verification.

SEQUENCE OF EXAMINATION
16. Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) Med Asst Trade.
(a) Written Test. Written Test will be objective type and question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper. Detailed procedure shall be explained before conduct of the examination. Duration of the written test will be 45 minutes and will comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA). CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY IN EACH PAPER SEPARATELY. Results
of the written test will be declared on the same day.

(b) Adaptability Test-1. All candidates who pass the Written Test will have to undertake Adaptability Test-1 which is to assess suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.

(c) Physical Fitness Test (PFT). All candidates who pass Adaptability Test-1 are to undergo PFT on the same or the next day. PFT consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 7 minutes 30 seconds. Candidates will also have to complete 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups and 20 squats within
the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test. Note: Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.

(d) Adaptability Test-2. All candidates who pass PFT will have to undertake Adaptability Test-2 as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test-2 is to identify suitable candidates with requisite comprehension and communication ability.

17. Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) IAF(S) Trade.

(a) Physical Fitness Test (PFT). Firstly, Candidates are to undergo PFT which consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 5 minutes
40 seconds. Candidates will also have to complete 08 Chin-ups (The candidate is to hang from a bar with under-grip and pull his body
upwards till the chin clears the bar. He is to lower the body until the elbows are completely straight and the body is in the ‘dead hanging’
position), 20 Push-ups (plank type) and 20 Bent-Knee Sit-ups within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.
Note: Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.

(b) Written Test. All candidates who qualify PFT will have to undertake Written Test. The Written Test will be objective type and question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper. Detailed procedure shall be explained before conduct of the examination. Duration of the written test will be 45 minutes and will comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).

(c) Adaptability Test-1. All candidates who pass the Written Test will have to undertake Adaptability Test-1 which is to assess suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.

(d) Adaptability Test-2. All candidates who pass Adaptability Test-1 will have to undertake Adaptability Test-2 as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test-2 is to identify suitable candidates with requisite comprehension and communication ability.

18. Medical Examination [For both Med Asst & IAF(S) Trades]. Candidates who qualify Adaptability Test-2 will be medically examined in the month of January 2017. Medical Examination will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and existing policy in vogue. Medical Examination would also include Baseline Investigation of:
(a) Blood Haemogram - Hb, TLC, DLC (b) Urine RE/ME (c) Biochemistry:- (i) Blood Sugar Fasting & PP (ii) Serum Cholesterol
(iii) Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine (iv) LFT—Serum Bilurubin, SGOT, SGPT (d) X- Ray chest (PA view) (e) ECG ®

Candidates declared Medically Unfit can avail the option for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) against their Unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a
Government Treasury/RBI/SBI through Military Receivable Order (MRO). The application for AMB along with original copy of MRO, photocopy of Unfitness Certificate and Postal Stamp worth Rs. 25/- affixed on a self-addressed envelope are to be submitted to the representative of 12 Airmen Selection Center within three working days of Medical examination.

Note 1. Candidates should bring latest prescription (one month validity) and spectacles for corrected vision, if used. The prescription must bear the signature, stamp and registration number of eye specialist. Note 2. Candidates are advised to get tartar & stains removed from their teeth before appearing for the medical examination. Ears should be free of wax. Candidates should be prepared to travel / stay for the medical test for four to five days under their own arrangement. No TA/DA will be admissible.

19. Publishing of AISL. The All India Select List (AISL) will be displayed at 12 Airmen Selection Centre, Air Force Station Begumpet, Bowenpally,Secunderabad (Telangana) - 500011 on 30 April 2017. Copies of the Display List will be sent to District Magistrate of Kadapa (Andhra Pradesh)(through Airmen Selection Centre) and will also be available at Central Airmen Selection Board website www.airmenselection.gov.in. The inclusion of names of the candidates in the AISL depends upon the performance of the candidates in the Rally. Inclusion of name in the All India Select List (AISL) does not guarantee automatic enrolment. Enrolment is strictly in order of merit from the AISL subject to medical fitness, availability of vacancies, not exceeding the age of 21 years on date of enrolment and meeting other laid down eligibility criteria as and when called for enrolment. The validity of AISL will be 12 months from the date of display and will be applicable only for Intakes No. 02/2017 & 01/2018.
